Preventive Medicine
We aim to realize precision medicine and precision health by comprehensively collecting and analyzing a wide range of health information, from lifestyle factors to biometric data, to provide prevention tailored to individual characteristics.
As a core project, the Tsuruoka Metabolomics Cohort Study (TMCS) was launched in 2012. In this cohort study, with the cooperation of 11,002 Tsuruoka citizens, we are conducting multi-omics analysis of biological samples such as metabolomes and genomes to search for new biomarkers focusing on biological mechanisms, including the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. Sub-studies are being conducted since 2018: TMCS-HTP, which provides evidence of heated tobacco products; TMCS-Aging, which provides evidence of healthy longevity; and TMCS-Women's Health, which provides evidence of women's health.
